Well... that was interesting.
I would like to stat by thanking everyone who sponsored, supported and shared my Movember campaign! We ended up raising $340 for my campaign and a total of over $1200 with my fraternity's team. For those of you who donated to see Farshad Murtada eat a chicken wing tossed in "The Last Dab", read on till the end.
You may be wondering why this post is called Mocember... well within the first week of Movember I received just short of $200 in donations! If you haven't read my earlier post, I pledged to run 1km for every $2 donated to my campaign. I naively calibrated my running to finish the 100 km pledged and in the last few days of Movember, the donations nearly doubled - which was amazing! But also meant that I had a lot more running to do.
Unfortunately I had three major grad school application deadlines on December 1st. This meant I could not spend the last few days running marathons but instead was writing essays etc. I felt that the only fair way to proceed was to keep the moustache until I was done my running. I worked on it steadily and finally finished coincidentally on the same day I finished my final exams. Liberation.
Before I discuss the status on the hot chicken wing, I'd like to thank the Canadian company Urban Beard for sponsoring my team with some awesome men's grooming prizes. We were given a box set of beard oils, balms, scissors, brushes etc. all of which are great quality, and ethically sourced (here's a link to their website: urban_beard). Here's some photos of me after a long Mocember along a few photos of me and two of my Mo-Bros who also received prizes from Urban Beard.
As for the chicken wing... the recent shut down has unfortunately thrown a wrench in our plans to produce a video where we give Farshad his chicken wing tossed in one of the world's hottest hot sauces "The Last Dab". Don't worry, the day will come. As soon as the Ontario restrictions lift allowing small gatherings, we will throw on our masks (except for him of course) and get you the video you we promised! That video will not be live unfortunately, but will be posted both here on this website and on farshadmurtada.com
